Over recent years lots of people have sat up rather straight and realised that this big ball of Mass, Gas and Water we live on called Earth, is seriously at risk from the way we live our day to day lives

What can we do... we thought? After all a company that uses quite an amount of computer equipment and processing power is really going to be draining some  AMP’s. So we looked at the stats and our usage, did some sums, drunk some coffee (Fairtrade of course) and came up with a few basic plans.

It’s a Start

Computers consume energy and produce various types of output, one of the less useful of these has mostly been seen as heat. So we thought of a way to use this waste in a productive way.

Now in the Winter months our design studios are heated by the output from our desktop computers and more warm air is also redirected from our server and comms room into the floorspace!

What could we do next?

Every web design project completed or web hosting account opened or renewed, we contribute a percentage of the revenue to official carbon offsetting initiatives. This means that we are contributing
directly to either ecological regeneration projects in the planting of
more trees and new forests, or towards renewable energy projects
such as Wind and Solar Farms.

The future for eBiz?

Even though this actually costs us a little bit more money, we make sure we upgrade and update our systems and software on a regular basis. New computers have lower power drain requirements, and better written software has less of a drain on computer resources which also consumes more energy.

Its all a kinda smart way of doing things, simple you may think? But "something" we might add!! If we all took a small bit of time to think of the tiny little things we could do to make a difference,
it would all add up to a rather large something across the world.
